I Use A Dildo And Im 13

Carver The question

is now fashionable to refer to the first two books of Raymond Carver (" Want you please shut up, please? " and " do we mean when we talk about love ") and books " Carver & Lish "in reference to the considerable pruning work of the famous (or infamous, depending on the point of view) editor Gordon Lish.

The idea is understandable. The second book, Lish cut 55% of the original text, title changed and some other end. Was creating a style, minimalism, and this movement probably owes most to the author Lish. But precisely, even if it's an extreme example of editing, the author, the creative head of those stories, who led the paper's stories Lish then edit it, it was Carver.

Moreover, by knowing some fame, he could finally break free from his perspective-from-invasive Lish's editing, and his next book (for many his masterpiece), " Cathedral" was published as Carver wanted his books were published. Just look at the length of the texts.

An editor can invent a stylistic movement, but never could invent an author.
