Literature, beer and long walks
arrived in Montevideo on Friday, January 9 around 20:30 (local time micro backward), carrying a good loaf Nobody remembers Mlejnas on the shoulder. The evening as a warming up pre-show was at 20. There were Carlos Rehermann (180 , Dodecameron ), some friends of literature, Ernesto Pasarisa, the Blueberries, Matias Bergara (illustrator of the cover Mlejnas ) and the distance we saw Paul come to a very high Dobrynin. Of course, inside was the author of the book in question, Ramiro Sanchiz, with his wife, Fiorella, the nicest girl in the West.
played a gang posing as Pleroma, a kind of acoustic concert with two guitars and two voices (who I joined guest singing " Working Class Hero" and "Wish You Were Here ) with readings by way of intermezzo and the special participation of Latin crooner Dobrynin metalhead.
some copies were signed, took pictures, and that's how I learned that yes, he had reached the neighboring land and was now in the midst of a chaotic gig and unstoppable.
big dinner that night was great with some of those present at the evening and the special participation of Gabriel Lagos. With Dobrynin discussed on the fiction that choose to dispense with the narrative and haunting end to Onetti (he swears he has a story that is better than "Well " I believe him for now), Lagos laughed almost all the authors mentioned, but from a gentle grace, sticking out the marketers tics of each. Sanchiz took to remind us that all we owed allegiance to Mario Levrero, but I think only he stooped to kiss the floor final.
I must say that during the stay I enjoyed the hospitality of Ramiro and Fiorella, by far much better host than I in the reverse case. On Saturday they traveled by July 18 and somehow ended up at the bookstore where she works Dobrynin. Paul had a lot of very interesting anecdotes about the relationship between Pirie and alchemists. Were outstanding for the upcoming talks.
In the afternoon I met Horacio Cavallo, poet and storyteller, author of Bear cloth and Manufacturing , stable and collaborator poetry section Another Heaven. River Plate discussed several authors, often in friendly disagreements partial, always brightening up a beer. Interestingly, in a speech of 3 always the case that subjects change the balance of power. In one, A and B and C think one thing the opposite. In another, are A and C to B. And so on. The important thing is that Horace, with his poetic expression of cosmic boredom carried on shoulders laden with tenderness and nobility, joined the group of interesting people that one should see more often if it were not life always gets in the way their distances, times and capitalism .
then walked a lot with Ramiro, because the discussions are as dynamic as ever when the body is in motion. In that walk I found some of his plans more megalomaniacs (this is only the beginning.) Wrote a virtual love letter to Pynchon's novel and told me that it is working (that estimate of 400 pages or more). Ah, did tourism, but perhaps more in the background. Even before I had walked through Old Town, a place at the crossroads known forces that result in a lyrical sense of strangeness.
At night there was roast, with some guests in the Sanchiz. I think I owe it all to Fiorella, even my meat strip never arrived (the first two times for being too juicy, the last for lack of meat and bone and fat to be pure, but had the decency not to say anything and talk the really important to be discussed in the table - Beatles, McCartney lettuce, Flashforward series, several Uruguayan writers, as much of the Argentines, Nielsen, Neuman, Bloom's canon, if burning or not Tolkien and the remastering of Ten of Pearl Jam, among others)
I think that night I started to get sick of the throat. Sunday was the wettest day of my stay. However far away I walked to a show that I saw, I found books that were bought or stolen if I could, and I finally had one last meeting with Ramiro and Fiorella lively chat ending at the station where I embark in the evening.
In the middle Paul Dobrynin said there that no one remembers Mlejnas seemed excellently written and I said particular score. Another friend read it over the weekend put her over Persephone (although below Linear ). And I brought my signed copy, of course. Because you will be editor and everything you want, but after all, choose to admire the authors for what they write. At this point, an appreciation for Ramiro (and Fiorella, of course) has little to do with the reasons for posting or reading. Sanchiz I really think is doing a road that will place of privilege in Uruguayan literature, if it succeeds Uruguayan literature ever raise the profile and set aside their humility emblematic.
of my trip, little more than I can count (I now understand better musicians after touring the world say they do not remember too much and it's all a blur ). When you are living 100% in the present, the collection leaves little room for storage. It all boils down to discussions of literature, beers that multiplied like loaves and fishes, and hiking, some sightseeing, some thoughtful, mostly as an accompaniment to words that were left scattered behind my steps, in a city that largely I was living a weekend like any other.

Older Women In Nylons And Skirts At Work
Antidote against American idiot in full collapse of the XXI century
Green Day rose to fame back in 1994 with their album Dookie . Who would have thought then that this small group of pop / punk California, with catchy little songs and a singer who seemed to be always congested, was going to get fifteen years later become one of the standards of good popular music, but more importantly, become synonymous with music and conceptual daring?
There were signs on the road. The melodies of "Basket Case " or "When I Come Around " announce this gift to more to the Beatles to the Ramones or the Sex Pistols. The energetic ska sound of "Minority " return to the roots of American music with "Warning " and of course, the ballad " Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) " which bases its harmony a succession of chords used by folk / country century (G - Cadd9 - D - Em).
By then, punk was just a part of the musical establishment of Green Day. It was the power, strength, attitude. But there were also a number of elements that suggest a potential announcing a possible increase in quality. That was in 2005.
American Idiot is almost the result of an accident. The group had recorded a new album and the tapes were stolen from the studio. Instead of re-recording, they decided nothing more and nothing less than designing a masterpiece that takes the California punk band where none had been before. You could say that history holds patches, one can argue that the music business takes shortcuts. The truth is that massive music is always played with the music business. What is important in the equation is still precisely the music.
The disc opens with the raging title track, a perfect melody that puts us on track from the beginning: Do
Want to Be an American idiot.
That Do not want a nation under the new media.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria? The subliminal mindfuck America
.
Even more radical is the second track on the album "Jesus of suburbia , which lasts 9 minutes, has 5 parts (or sections) courses but distinguishable, and that was one of the cutting disk diffusion. Yes, this is the "Bohemian Rhapsody " band. The comparison may seem exaggerated but not in vain Billy Joe insists that Queen is one of the influences of the group. This issue introduces the subject from which the story is told that individualizes the disk (to show just a button):
I'm the
are of rage and love The Jesus of suburbia
From the bible of none of the Above
On a steady diet of Soda pop and Ritalin
Clearly, these lyrics also owe something to Roger Waters neurotic '70s, have little to do with the naivete of the era Dookie. Then, the disc emphasizes topics such as "Holiday ", which among other things will pass a line that was not easy to say at that particular time:
Pulverize the Eiffel towers Who criticize your Government
!
The disc wrong course once. For the hits "Boulevard of Broken Dreams, "" Wake Me Up When Septermber ends "joins the epic sound of" Are we the waiting "and" Give Me Novacaine "apart from the punk fury of" St. Jimmy "and uptempo rocker " Letterbomb " which asks:
Where will all the martyrs go when the virus cures Itself?
And Where Will we all go when it's too late?
Before closing the disc with the superb " Whatsername" is another topic of 9 minutes (in the mirror with track 2) called " Homecoming" (again, with several sections, or if you want to use a price Manichaean movements). Not only serves to close the musical aesthetic of the disc: it is a risk that the band agrees and becomes a cathedral of punk rock.
spent 4 years and then came Breakdown 21th Century. Another concept album, again a narrative medium patches, again pushing the punk tracks to other banks. If at first reviewed the disc looks like a rerun, eventually grows to become perhaps the gem of the band.
American Idiot is an album more immediate, more urgent. Its power will probably never again be matched by Green Day, among other things because I would not have the element of surprise. But 21th Century Breakdown is the brother mature, more austere, less violent, more thoughtful.
'Born into Nixon, I WAS raised in hell.
A child welfare dwell Where the teamsters.
The last one born, the first one to run. My town
Was Blind refinery from the sun.
My generation is zero.
I never made it as a working class hero.
Closer The Wall floydiano than ever, Green Day used to study many more tricks yet, to be composed of items from the piano rather than guitar, the climates are in a more melodic with less predictable harmonies and some arrangements that more than a cult band would envy.
If the previous record referred to American Idiot which addresses the political and social marketing in this new effort, the focus is also the religious message and the compulsion to consume:
Can you hear the sound of the static noise? Blasting out in stereo
Cater to the class and the paranoid
Music to my nervous system
Advertising
love and religion on the airwaves
Murder Slogans on the brink of Corruption
Vision of blasphemy, war and peace
Screaming at you
I can not see a thing in the video
I can not hear a sound on the radio
In stereo in the static age
La sugerencia que logra Armstrong con sus letras es mucho más interesante porque se presenta más abstracta que en American Idiot . Véase si no:
True sounds of maniacal laughter
And the deaf-mute is misleading the choir
The punch line is a natural disaster
And it's sung by the unemployed
Fight fire with a riot
The class war is hanging on a wire
Because the martyr is a compulsive liar
When he said
"It's just a bunch of niggers throwing gas into the hysteria"
O como repite en " Restless Heart Syndrome ":
I'm elated, medicated
I am my own worst
enemy So what ails you is What You
impales you are your own worst enemy
More than American Idiot, 21th Century Breakdown is an album Orwellian dystopian much more confusing in nature and paranoid (but lucid and sympathetic). The problem with this latest album is to be listening to old to appreciate properly. Ie: from start to finish. The songs grow on the whole, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. American Idiot, while it is a great punk record, had a collection of 4 or 5 hits natural. 21th Century Breakdown not have that "luck? but it is a fundamental drive of the new century.
Not many bands have followed two essential pieces of music. Ten years ago nobody would have expected just this cute little group that sang songs and had a good rotation on MTV.
recommended immediate listening of these two discs, in order, running first American Idiot then move to the 21th Century Breakdown. And with blaring speakers, please.

global meditations and perihelion GCP
global meditation Galactic New Moon 2011, and really, I am amazed at the accuracy of the correlation with GCPdot , so I decided to look back what went past in this regard lately behold previous events:
http://calendario-astrologico.blogspot.com/search/label/GCP
There have been musings that have not been reflected in the GCP but have been the exception, and never in a setting as important as today.
some time ago, I made a study of ALL the "meditations special global "made so far, since we started it at 18:00 UT (March 2007) until December 2010, with data downloaded from http://noosphere.princeton.edu/
Processed surprising curve revealed:
Yellow bars indicate the 4-day meditations of the Special Global Meditation. The orange is a meditation in itself. Each bar is the average of 15 minutes. The higher the bar, greater "coherence" in the random numbers generated by the GCP.
a curve can be observed frequently: the first 15 and 30 miutes tend to be lower than average. Then, the minute 30 to 45 jumps up and becomes the highs of the day, to be averaged. Then, from 45 to 60 becomes close to normal.
is as if the overall effect of meditation is concentrated between 30 and 45 minutes after starting. This can best be seen in the graph below, which shows the average of all 4 meditations Meditations Global Day Special (yellow) compared with the remaining hours of the day (blue)
As can be seen, the peak is the third, for 30-45 minutes after the opening of global meditation. There are at least interesting, marked in green on the other chart, and here can be seen at the beginning of the fourth hour of global meditation in the first 15 minutes (the lowest). To investigate. This minimum seems to be compensated for mathematically the 30-45 peak of the wave, and is very regular. Nature is sacred
